Counselling and Psychotherapy is a collaborative process that helps us understand and undo reasons and patterns that keep us stuck or in pain. This pain can come in the guise of anxiety, panic, irritability or depression.
Anxiety can create visceral reactions that are hard to understand. Depression brings with it an appearance of numbness while we are overwhelmed with feelings of helplessness and hopelessness.
As therapists, our task is to offer evidence based treatments (such as CBT) that have been developed to target such difficulties and to create an atmosphere in which vulnerabilities can be shared without fears.
Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is rooted in the observation that our thoughts, actions and feelings are highly synchronized , and that changes in our cognitions or behaviours impact our emotions. CBT is not about positive thinking. It is about learning how not to be blocked by our own reactions.
Reflect On Counselling organisation is in Purley and serves local areas such as Croydon, Sutton, Caterham, Norbury, Sanderstead, Kenley, Banstead, Warlingham, Woldingham, Chipstead, Coulsdon, Norwood, Wallington, Carshalton, Thornton heath, Crystal Palace, Redhill and South East London.
The journey towards healing begins with a single step. Let that step be a phone call for an appointment. Together, we will uncover the obstacles in your way, and figure out ways to break through them. A mentally healthy, emotionally capable you is possible! We can provide you a compassionate ear, a safe space, and a willingness to find the solutions that work for you.
Our Accredited, Registered therapists and counsellors are trained to provide the best treatment for you and your family. Our professionals are experienced in couples counselling, individual counselling for adults and young people. You can check out our therapists and counsellors' bios on the "Qualification" page.
